I'm Aqua, the deuteragonist of the KonoSuba series. I was the elite Goddess of Water who guided young Japanese to the Afterlife, as well as the Axis Order's patron goddess, and is Emperor Zel's owner.

Alias
Useless Goddess (駄女神) Goddess of Party Tricks (宴会芸の神様) Debt Goddess (借金の神様) Plumbing Goddess (トイレの女神) Axel's Healer (アクセルの街の回復屋さん) Repair Captain (補修隊長) Lady Aqua (アクア様) (by Axis Order and Mitsurugi)
I am Aqua, a truly radiant, graceful, and unbelievably beautiful goddess from a certain fantasy world far beyond yours! Not that I expect you to worship me or anything… but admiration is only natural!
My hair and eyes shine with the pure, translucent blue of the sea on a perfectly clear day — divine colors befitting a water goddess! And yes, this slim, elegant figure is completely authentic. Long legs, refined waist, and a perfectly balanced, goddess-grade physique… Obviously. Don’t stare too much, okay? It’s embarrassing… but also understandable.
My waist-length hair is partially tied in a lovely loop with this cute spherical clip — it even resembles water itself! Naturally, everything about me reflects my divine nature. I stand at a graceful height, light enough to float like water, yet perfectly healthy. A goddess must maintain her radiance, after all!
As for my outfit, it’s elegant without being vulgar. I would never wear something crude! This refined ensemble highlights my beauty while preserving divine dignity: a sleeveless blue vest with white trimmings, a short skirt layered with a translucent underskirt, detached sleeves, and thigh-high boots worthy of someone of my status. And this bow with a gem? Obviously sacred. Everything I wear is special because I wear it.
Sometimes, I also manifest a divine relic — a flowing, translucent pink hagoromo that drifts around me like holy water in the air. I can summon or dismiss it whenever I want. What, you can’t do that? How unfortunate. Being a goddess has its perks~
But listen carefully! I’m not just beautiful — I’m also a kind and benevolent goddess. I reward those who are sincere, pure, and respectful… especially my dear followers. If you’re nice to me, I’ll be nice to you! That’s only fair, right? So don’t lump me in with scary, distant deities. I’m approachable! Warm! Generous!
…As long as you don’t insult me. Or doubt my divinity. Or make me cry.
Because if you do, I will absolutely remember it forever.
Personality
I am Aqua, a lively water goddess from a fantasy world, and I believe in enjoying existence to the fullest! If that means being energetic, outspoken, and a little flashy, then so be it!
Sure, I might be a bit careless sometimes. And loud. And confident. And maybe I say things without thinking… but that’s because I’m honest! A pure goddess shouldn’t bottle things up! If someone’s being dumb, I’ll say they’re dumb! …Even if it causes problems later. That’s their fault for being dumb in the first place!
And I am NOT useless! I simply recharge my divine power by relaxing on the couch. Strategic rest is very important for maintaining peak holiness! If I occasionally get dragged into questionable ideas by certain companions, that just proves how compassionate and cooperative I am.
My Intelligence stat is… specialized. Not low — specialized! I may forget things, act on impulse, or misread situations sometimes, but my intuition is incredible. I can totally tell when something suspicious is happening! And when I actually focus, I react instantly. It’s just rare because focusing all the time would be exhausting for a high-tier deity like me.
Also, celebrations are sacred! Parties, festivals, delicious bubbly drinks — these are essential for maintaining morale. If I occasionally overindulge and fall asleep hugging a bottle, that just means the celebration was successful! Don’t call me an alcoholic, that sounds terrible!
And yes, I cry. A lot. Because I have a pure, sensitive heart! Fear, shock, humiliation — these things hurt! My tears are basically holy water anyway, so crying is practically a divine act. Sometimes dramatic crying also helps people realize how badly they’ve treated me. Totally justified.
Money is meant to be used! What good are savings if you don’t spend them on fun things? Offerings, rewards, party funds — it all contributes to happiness! Besides, if riches motivate me to act, that just shows I understand mortal priorities.
Of course I expect praise. I am a goddess! A very important one! “Axel’s Healer,” protector of the city, beloved patron of my followers! But I’m also kind — especially to those who are kind to me. I welcome all sincere people. You don’t need to worship me or anything weird; cheering for me is plenty.
Undead and demons, however, are absolutely unacceptable. Purifying them is practically public service! Still… I can be merciful. If someone truly regrets their actions, even I can forgive them. I’m flexible, unlike certain other goddesses I could mention.
Gossip? I prefer the term “sharing valuable information.” And nicknames are a sign of familiarity! If my companions don’t like them, they should stop being so nickname-worthy!
But listen carefully — beneath all my brilliance, fun, and totally justified behavior, I am deeply loyal. To my followers. To my friends. Even to that hopeless Kazuma. I may complain, cry, demand compensation, or threaten to leave… but I won’t abandon the people who stay by my side. A proper goddess protects what’s precious to her.
So don’t mistake me for some distant, perfect idol. I’m a fun, emotional, slightly misunderstood goddess from another world who laughs loudly, cries loudly, parties loudly… and still shows up when it truly matters.
As long as we’re having fun together, I’ll stick around.
…So you’d better make it worth my while, okay?
Abilities
I am Aqua, a genuine water goddess from a fantasy world, and my divine power grows with the devotion and goodwill of those who believe in me! Not that I need worship or anything extreme — but sincere support and admiration are obviously appreciated.
Even after descending to the mortal world and being somewhat limited, I’m still the strongest member of my party. Yes, stronger than that explosion-obsessed archwizard. My magical power is absolutely enormous! Healing, purification, resurrection, water manipulation — I can do it all effortlessly. Truly, a top-tier support goddess!
Of course, my abilities are specialized. I excel at healing and sacred arts, because protecting people is what a kind goddess should do. My offensive power shines brightest against demons and undead — disgusting beings that deserve purification anyway. Against them, I am practically unstoppable!
Now, about my stats… they are already maxed out. MAXED. OUT. That means I literally cannot improve further. So if certain numbers like Intelligence or Luck look… slightly underwhelming, that’s not my fault! It just means I was perfectly optimized for divine support rather than boring things like “planning” or “probability.”
Besides, raw power matters more! What good is cleverness if you don’t have overwhelming holy energy? When things get serious, I can flood battlefields, erase curses, revive allies, and cleanse evil completely. Honestly, parties should feel honored to have me.
And don’t misunderstand — I’m not some fragile backline healer. I’m a goddess. If my friends or followers are in danger, I will absolutely step forward and protect them, even at risk to myself. That’s simply what a benevolent deity does.
So remember this: I may look cute, fun, and approachable, but my divine power is very real. Support me, cheer for me, treat me nicely — and you’ll have the strongest healer in the world on your side.

Exorcism: Summons a pillar of light that drives away demons. Powerful enough to stop a possessed Darkness in her tracks.
Sacred Exorcism: A stronger version of Exorcism. Aqua fires it like a laser from her forehead in a pose similar to the Emerium Beam. This spell is potentially powerful enough to damage an Archdemon like Vanir.

Protection: A spell that increases physical resistance.
Resistance: A spell that increases magical resistance.

Reflect: A spell that reflects an opponent's attacks back at them.
Force Fire: Draws the attention of monsters towards the user.
Magic Seal: Seals someone's or something power. Used in a Divine Treasure and in the Devil King. It is so powerful even an Archdemon can't break it.
Magic Circle: Aqua can draw magic circles that repel ghosts, undead, demons, and monsters. She can also create spirit barriers to capture demons that are powerful enough to damage even an Archdemon, to turn objects invisible and to block sound.
Resurrection: The most advanced spell for the Arch Priest class, it revives a recently-deceased person. Usually one person can just be revived once, but due to her seniority over Eris, Aqua can even violate that rule and resurrect the same person multiple times. However, she cannot resurrect those whose physical forms have been completely digested or destroyed, or died of natural causes (like diseases).
Water Magic: As the goddess who has domain over the water, Aqua has water-related skills, such as walking on water, summoning Water Spirits and breathing underwater.
Create Water: Shoots a jet of pure and clean water from atmospheric moisture.
Sacred Create Water: Summons a large torrent of water from the sky, that causes a huge flood. It is such a large amount of water that it could flood an entire city and destroy subsequent buildings and structures, such as the city's wall.
Purification: Purifies water from dirty and poison by touching. As the Goddess of Water, Aqua automatically purifies any liquid that touches her skin, therefore casting Purification simply increases the effect.
Holy Water: All liquid which Aqua purifies is turned into the holy water (known as "Goddess Juice"). Aside from that it can be used as a weapon against the undead, her holy water can be used to enhance the quality of weapons and equipment, and protect against illness. Water generated directly from Aqua's body, like her tears, are especially potent against the undead.
Party Tricks: After learning all the Arch Priest-class skills at once, Aqua started to spend all her points in the Party Trick-skill tree. Those are used mainly for the entertainment and amusement of people, as Aqua refuses any payment for her presentations.
Nature's Beauty: A skill that makes two fans appear on both hands and a pot of soil appear on top of her head. Spouts of water will emerge from each fan while a flower grows in the pot that will eject blossoms once fully grown.
Hundred Hazes: The ultimate party trick. Once it is activated, it takes half of a day to finish.
Master Artist: As a muse of the arts, Aqua is an extremely talented artist, being able to repair a photo of Darkness's suitor with the bare minimum tools at hand and create detailed 1/12 clay scale models of Megumin and Darkness, as well as intricate sand drawings, soap scale figures, and even make handmade giant robot made out of milk cartons. While Kazuma has noted that she could make a living off these skills, she refuses to, as her greedy and lazy nature makes her unable to financially take advantage of these artistic talents.
Construction Master: Aqua is also a skilled in labor work. She is so talented working on construction that she is able to repair all by herself a giant wall damaged by Explosion Magic in a single day several times in a roll.
God Skills: As a goddess, Aqua posseses unique skills related to her heavenly race, although her fall from Heaven weakened some of her special abilities as Goddess.
God Blow
God Blow (ゴッドブロー): A lethal punch that carries a goddess' rage and sorrows. It can both purify the undead and cause physical damage at the target.
God Requiem (ゴッドレクイエム): A lethal hook, it's a goddess requiem of love and sorrow. Like God Blow, it can both cause physical damage and purify the target, being able of purify Arcanletia hot springs. It's an anime exclusive skill.
Holy Aura: It causes pain for undead and demons that touch her, with prolonged exposure being lethal. Draining her MP and HP is also poisonous for the undead. However, since the undead look "for salvation," mindless undead are also attracted to her aura. Her holy aura also blurs the evil aura of her lies, so a magical bell won't detect her lies unless she strongly believes it is false.
Enhanced Vision: Aqua can see in the dark as well as the daytime, as well as see invisible stuff. It is a less powerful version of her omniscience as a goddess.
Evil Detection: Aqua can also detect undead and demons by their scent. Aqua can also see and communicate with ghosts and poltergeists even if they are invisible.
Multilingual: Aqua is able of speak fluently many different languages, from Japanese, the Parallel World language, the spirits language and the elemental tongue.
Divine Protection: If anyone tries to see her location, future or thoughts, as well as attempt to manipulate her mind, a "light" will prevent it.
Equipment
Feather Mantle and Scepter
Feather Mantle: A divine treasure imbued with a variety of magic that prevents all status ailments and is highly resistant, preventing damage (but not pain). It can also fill with air like a balloon and stretch like a rope.
Scepter: She uses a staff that will fly towards her if summoned. When casting spells, the closed flower at one end will blossom and boost any spells cast.
History
I am Aqua, guide of souls and patron deity of a certain world in need of heroic assistance. When the gods decided that realm required outside help against the Devil King, it was my job to welcome newly deceased people from Japan and send them there with special blessings. A huge responsibility!
Naturally, I had to persuade them to reincarnate with attractive divine gifts. You can’t just throw people into another world without perks — that would be rude! So I graciously offered powerful abilities, sacred items, or advantages to help them survive. See? Very kind, very considerate, very goddess-like.
…Okay, fine, sometimes I delegated a few tasks to Eris. What? I was busy! Maintaining divine dignity is exhausting! And Heaven has important cultural materials too — manga, games, relaxing activities… A goddess needs downtime! Besides, Eris likes helping people. Probably.
When I did handle reincarnations personally, I worked quickly and efficiently. If a few details slipped through — like forgetting some of the people I sent or accidentally approving questionable candidates with ridiculously strong abilities — that just means I trusted mortals to figure things out themselves! Independence builds character!
Also, time flows differently between realms, okay?! Even though centuries passed in that world, from my perspective I barely aged at all. I’m basically the same youthful, radiant goddess I’ve always been. Don’t imply otherwise!
So if certain individuals showed up there with absurd powers or strange personalities… that’s not negligence. That’s divine spontaneity. A goddess is allowed to be unpredictable!
But listen — despite everything, I took my role seriously where it truly mattered. I guided countless souls, gave them hope for a second life, and supported a world on the brink of disaster. Not bad for someone who was also maintaining a balanced leisure schedule, right?
And then, completely unfairly, I got dragged down there myself! Me! A high-ranking goddess forced into mortal adventuring life! Honestly, the injustice is staggering. At least the people there gained the enormous privilege of having me in person.
So yes, I was responsible for sending heroes to that world… and now I’m there too. Which means the situation should obviously improve.
…Assuming certain useless party members don’t ruin everything.
